Sales Representative: Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives and Tackifiers
Full-time United States · Remote with travel Reports to: Business Development Director, Adhesives
About Mstack
Mstack is an R&D-led specialty chemicals platform that makes global sourcing simpler, more transparent, and more cost-effective. We operate across 15+ countries, are backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Alpha Wave Global, and have scaled past $150M in revenue.
Our tech-enabled network of approved production facilities in strategic low-cost regions gives manufacturers access to high-performance materials without the usual tradeoffs on quality or lead time. The platform handles the full procurement cycle: sourcing, testing, shipping, and tracking. Every product moves through ISO and ASTM-certified testing before it ships.
We serve CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers), oil and gas, water treatment, personal care, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Adhesives is one of our fastest-growing lines, and this role sits at the center of it.
About the Role:
We are hiring a senior sales professional to build and run our pressure-sensitive adhesives business in North America. The scope covers both formulated PSA and hot melt adhesives and the raw materials that go into them, with tackifiers as a central part of the portfolio: C5 and C9 hydrocarbon resins, rosin esters, and terpene phenolics.
You will own a book of business across converters, tape and label manufacturers, formulators, OEMs, and distributors, selling into packaging and graphics, labels, automotive, construction, and industrial markets. This is a hunting role with real technical content. Expect to sit alongside our product development and technical service teams through sampling, trials, and qualification.
What You Will Do:
Build and manage a book of business across PSA and hot melt adhesive accounts, including the tackifier resins and other raw materials feeding those formulations
Open new accounts with converters, formulators, OEMs, and distributors, and run the full cycle from first conversation through qualification and repeat volume
Work cross-functionally with technical service and product development to support customer trials, sample qualification, and drop-in substitution work
Partner with sourcing and QC to match customer specs to the right approved production facility, and to keep supply predictable once an account scales
Represent Mstack at industry events such as PSTC Tape Summit, Label Expo Americas, and Foam Expo
Feed market intelligence back to the business: competitive activity, pricing movement, supply shifts, and emerging applications
What We Are Looking For:
10+ years of sales experience in pressure-sensitive adhesives, hot melts, tackifiers, tapes, films, or label materials
Working knowledge of tackifier chemistries (C5 and C9 hydrocarbon resins, rosin acids and rosin esters, terpene phenolics) and how resin selection shifts tack, peel, and shear performance
Familiarity with PSA adhesive chemistries (acrylic, rubber-based, hot melt, silicone) and common substrates (paper, PET, PP, foam)
Existing relationships with converters, distributors, formulators, or OEMs in adhesives or tape and label
Comfort in technical sales conversations involving PSTC and ASTM test methods, bond performance, and application specs
Willingness to travel roughly 30 to 50 percent for customer visits and trade shows
Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related technical field is helpful but not required
Nice to Have:
Experience selling globally sourced raw materials and walking customers through qualification of a new supply source
Exposure to hot melt formulation for packaging, hygiene, or tape applications
Distribution channel management, including pricing and program structure
Why This Role
Competitive base plus uncapped commission tied to what you close
A supply chain, QC lab, and technical team behind you rather than a catalog and a price list
Direct access to leadership and short decision cycles: if a deal needs a call on pricing or a new source qualified, you get an answer quickly
Early ownership of a product line we are actively investing in
