About the role

Position Overview: To support the Summit Bechtel Reserve through exceptional facility care, logistical coordination, and residential services that enable safe, clean, and welcoming environments for all programs, guests, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Base Camp daily operations, staff supervision, and departmental asset management
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of Base Camp staff
  • Set up and manage Base Camp HQ, seasonal offices, and Staff Camp logistics
  • Maintain camp cleanliness, supply inventory, and proper waste disposal procedures
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure proper use of vehicles and equipment
Support smooth arrival/departure operations and provide responsive service to all guests and staff. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
Minimum age: 18+Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to obtain Summit Driving Permit
Required 2+ yr. leading teams, prefer 2+ Summit employment
Preferred: Scouting/Camping experience
Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening) Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication Physical & Practical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55 Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics) Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
