TITLE: Raw Materials Specialist - Fashion Retail Industry LOCATION: New York City, NY - hybrid schedule - 3 days in office, 2 days remoteCONTRACT: 3 months - with extensionPAY RANGE: $42 - $46 per hour on W2OVERVIEWRussell Tobin is seeking a Raw Materials Specialist. This is an individual contributor position responsible for the quality of colors and fabrics including garments and components to assure final product quality. Assist in the technical development, pre-production and cataloguing of all fabrics and colors through to production. Visit company stores on a regular basis to monitor the quality and consistency of fabrics and color under store lighting conditions. Typically reports to manager of Textile Technology.
Qualifications:
College degree in technical education, or equivalent experience.3-5 years experience in fabric and color development. EXPERIENCE IN INTIMATES, CASUAL SLEEPWEAR, RAW MATERIALS AT A LIKETop Skills Needed for this role: Experience in development of intimates, casual sleepwear Raw materials (knits, wovens)Solid written and verbal communication skillsPLM (Centric preferred) experienceORGANIZATION: BOTH PHYSICAL Raw Material libraries and digital recordkeeping Typical Day Daily meetings approx. 4-6 per day Daily email communication and follow-up Coordinate with design teams Daily organization/recordkeeping - PLM and physical Must be authorized to work in the United States Why Join?
