Overview: The A.C.Coy Company is assisting a client in their search for an EHS Coordinator. This individual will work with all levels of the organization to prevent injuries, protect the environment, reduce carbon emissions, and promote a strong culture of safety, sustainable practices, and compliance. Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience overseeing an EHS program that includes hazard identification and risk reduction, regulatory compliance, employee training, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, environmental management, contractor safety, audits, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities: Conducts inspections, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and audits; identify hazards and track corrective actions to completion Implements and maintains the risk analysis of all work centers & workplaces Defines and formalizes health and safety and environmental procedures Trains (new) staff on health, safety and environmental aspects Investigates incidents, near misses, injuries, and environmental concerns; documents findings, implements corrective & preventive actions and escalates significant issues as needed Monitors and follow the progress of remedial, corrective and improvement actions relating to EHSMaintains EHS records, metrics, permits, training records, OSHA logs, and regulatory submissions; communicates trends and concerns to management Ensures that H&S and environmental regulatory monitoring is kept up to date and that the relevant compliance requirements are met (OSHA, EPA, state, and local EHS requirements)Coordinates emergency preparedness activities, including drills, first-aid readiness, and evacuation procedures Partners with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, leadership, and global EHS teams to support safe work practices, reporting, carbon reduction efforts, and continuous improvement Coordinates a carbon reduction program, including emissions data collection, implementation of approved reduction initiatives, and progress reporting Implement and maintain an environmental management system to prepare a future ISO14001 certification (which will need to be combined with the existing ISO9001 certification in place)With the support of the local Quality and Purchasing team, and assistance from head office, manages and maintains skills and compliance with key US environmental legislation such as PROP65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals Regulation, etc.
Required: Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including experience overseeing day-to-day safety activities Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, state, and local EHS requirements Hands-on experience with audits, inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, employee training, and corrective action follow-up Experience with the key concepts & principles of ESG & Sustainability (ex: Carbon footprint management)Experience maintaining EHS records and using an EHS reporting system Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to explain safety requirements clearly and provide practical guidance across all levels of the organization
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Science, Occupational Safety, or Industrial Hygiene Familiarity with ISO 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Sustainability), 45001 (Safety)OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED certificationsASP, CSP, CHMM, HAZWOPER, or similar certifications
