About the role
Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds is seeking a hands-on Multimedia Producer (Video & Graphic Design) to support the Health Fund in delivering engaging short-form video and digital and print materials. This onsite role in New York, NY focuses on visual storytelling that strengthens members’ understanding of their health benefits and the Health Fund’s programs and services.
Role overview:
In this creative production position, you will manage projects from concept through delivery, using social-first video, graphics, infographics, print design, and other multimedia formats to advance Health Fund priorities. The role reports to the Manager, Marketing & Communications and is classified as Exempt.
What you will do:
Conceive, produce, shoot, and edit short-form videos that improve members’ health literacy, understanding of benefits, and awareness of Health Fund programs and services
Build video scripts and storyboard concepts aligned to the audience, key message, production plan, and delivery channel based on department goals
Handle production end-to-end, including scheduling, shooting, editing, packaging, and final delivery, while following established governance for Health Fund communications and securing required releases and approvals
Apply visual communications expertise to refine visual brand guidelines and design social graphics, infographics, brand templates, and other assets that support the Health Fund’s visual brand library
Create social-first video content such as educational videos, tutorials, interviews, and event coverage for digital and internal communications channels
Concept and design health-benefit and campaign-specific postcards, flyers, and other printed materials for 32BJ members and other audiences
Monitor and measure engagement against target metrics, then optimize campaigns to improve performance
Photograph and record 32BJ members, Benefit Funds and Union staff, external partners, and events as needed
Manage multiple creative projects at once, maintain production schedules, and communicate status, risks, and resource needs to relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with colleagues across the Health Fund and other departments, representing the 32BJ Health Fund responsibly when working with vendors and external partners
Perform other related duties and provide additional support as directed by senior leadership and management
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in videography, multimedia content creation, graphic design, or a related combination
A professional portfolio showcasing video production and graphic design work
Prior experience working in public health, healthcare, labor unions and/or nonprofit organizations
Experience supporting internal stakeholders and translating business needs into creative deliverables
Strong understanding of social-first video, audience behavior, visual storytelling, and the creative elements that increase viewer engagement
Excellent design skills, including translating complex information into clear, high-impact visual communications
Experience optimizing visual content based on audience engagement and other performance metrics Ability to manage simultaneous projects and adapt to changes in direction or prioritization
Commitment to content that supports health, wellness, and member education
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Power Point
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills, with attention to detail
Commitment to the 32BJ Health Fund mission to improve the lives of hard-working people by providing sustainable access to affordable, high-quality healthcare
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Multimedia Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
English required for speaking, reading, writing, and understanding; Spanish fluency is preferred
Adobe Certified Professional or similar design or visual communication certification preferred

Salary: USD 90,000 - 105,000 per year
