Job Description Job Description Job SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Junior Application Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of internal applications used within our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for an early-career developer with hands-on experience in SQL, Python, and JavaScript who is eager to grow their skills in a real-world, production-focused environment. The position is on-site at our Lexington, MI manufacturing location and will work closely with operations, engineering, and IT teams under the direction of the IT Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance internal applications and tools using Python, JavaScript, and SQLWrite and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and application logicAssist in designing user interfaces and application workflows that support manufacturing processesDebug, test, and troubleshoot applications to ensure reliability and performanceCollaborate with senior developers, the IT Manager, and stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutionsDocument application functionality, code changes, and development processesSupport integrations between databases, applications, and manufacturing systemsFollow coding standards, best practices, and version control proceduresRequired QualificationsBasic to intermediate experience with:SQL (queries, joins, basic optimization)Python (scripting or application development)JavaScript (front-end or back-end development)Understanding of fundamental software development conceptsFamiliarity with relational databasesAbility to troubleshoot and debug codeStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsWillingness to work on-site in a manufacturing environment in Lexington, MIGood communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamPreferred QualificationsBachelor of Science in Computer Science or ProgrammingExperience developing internal business or manufacturing applicationsExposure to web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, Node.js, or similar)Basic knowledge of HTML/CSSFamiliarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)Understanding of manufacturing or industrial processes is a plusWhat We OfferHands-on experience developing real-world applications in a manufacturing environmentOpportunity to learn from experienced developers and cross-functional teamsContract role with potential for extension based on performance and business needsPhysical demands: Ability to work extended hours as neededTravel required:
