Job Description: Join the Team That Keeps Our Products MovingAt STI Polymer, our logistics team plays a critical role in ensuring raw materials arrive safely, finished products are shipped accurately, and customers receive orders on time. As a Shipping & Receiving Technician, you'll work at the center of our operation by coordinating shipments, receiving materials, operating forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, maintaining inventory records, and supporting warehouse operations. What You'll Do: As a member of our Logistics team, you will help support the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility by:
  • Preparing outbound shipments to meet customer-specific requirements
  • Verifying shipping accuracy, labeling, packaging, and shipment documentation
  • Ensuring drivers depart with all required paperwork and regulatory documentation
  • Receiving incoming raw materials and properly labeling and storing materials
  • Loading and unloading freight trucks, tankers, totes, drums, and containers
  • Operating forklifts and material handling equipment safely
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy through scanning and storage transactions
  • Recording receipts and shipments within company systems
  • Managing shipping and receiving documentation and logs
  • Supporting warehouse organization and 5S initiatives
  • Maintaining storage locations for finished goods and raw materials
  • Assisting with customer-specific shipping requirements and special projects
  • Communicating shipment issues and logistics updates as needed
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork and documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, drivers, and customers
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Commitment to workplace safety and established procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Forklift experience or certification
  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with ERP, SAP, Chempax, or inventory management systems
  • Experience handling shipping documentation and freight coordination
Manufacturing or logistics experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong work habits and a willingness to learn. Physical & Work Requirements This position must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday Repeated climbing of stairs and ladders Safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment Working indoors and outdoors as needed Loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and tankers Wearing required personal protective equipment
