Job Summary:
Premiere Book Group is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting and finance operations in a fast-paced, inventory-driven, multi-channel e-commerce business. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records and controls, while working closely with our operations, sales, and warehouse teams. The ideal candidate enjoys maintaining clean, accurate ledgers, investigating discrepancies, and getting to the bottom of why numbers don’t match, while also identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen financial controls as the company continues to grow.
Position: Staff Accountant
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Accounts Receivable
- Create and send customer invoices, especially for BulkBooks.com B2B and institutional orders, and keep payment records accurate in NetSuiteApply cash and match payments from Braintree, PayPal, ACH, check, and marketplace channels to the correct invoices and orders
- Manage collections on aging receivables and track installment and payment-plan arrangements
- Partner with Sales and Customer Service on billing questions, credits, refunds, and disputed charges
- Accounts Payable
- Process vendor bills, including publishers, distributors, freight carriers, warehouse suppliers, and event-related vendors
- Manage consignment vendor settlements and payouts, so they reflect actual sales, cost of goods, and agreed margins
- Run weekly payment cycles, maintain vendor records (W-9s, payment terms)
- Code expenses accurately and manage approval workflows
- Month-End Close & Reconciliations
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and payment-processor accounts (Braintree, PayPal) to the general ledger
- Reconcile e-commerce sales from BigCommerce and other channels against NetSuite, and investigate orders whose status, payment, or fulfillment doesn't match across systems
- Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals and support deferred revenue schedules
- Reconcile AR and AP subledgers to the GL and keep supporting documentation ready for review and audit
Qualifications:
Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (preferably NetSuite), Stampli, and advanced Excel skills. Proven ability to handle complex reconciliations (e.g., bank, PayPal, credit cards, gift certificates, deferred revenue).2-4 years of accounting experience specifically in AR and AP.Experience in e-commerce or inventory-intensive industries is strongly preferred.

Your First 90 Days:
First 30 Days: Learn the Business and the Systems
Get to know our three businesses, how orders move from storefront to warehouse to ledger, and where finance touches each step
Get hands-on in NetSuite: chart of accounts, AR/AP workflows, existing saved searches, and the close checklist
Shadow the current AR and AP cycles, and process invoices, payments, and vendor bills with review
Learn our payment channels (Braintree, PayPal, ACH, marketplaces) and how each settles into the bank
By 60 Days: Take Ownership of Daily AR and APRun cash application, invoicing, and weekly vendor payment cycles independently
Own the AR aging report and lead regular collections follow-upPrepare consignment vendor settlements and reconcile them to sales and COGS data
Complete bank, credit card, and processor reconciliations for the close on your own
Flag recurring reconciling items and document what's causing them
By 90 Days: Own the Reconciliations and Improve the Process
Reconcile channel sales (BigCommerce and others) to NetSuite and resolve cross-system mismatches with Operations
Propose at least one process or reporting improvement, such as a new saved search, a tighter approval workflow, or a faster reconciliation method
Be the go-to person for AR/AP questions across the team
