Position: Inpatient Coder
Client: Healthcare Provider
Location: 100% Remote (PST Hours)
Contract Length: 6-months, with potential for extension
Start Date: ASAPSummary Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.
Key Responsibilities: Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations
Qualifications: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred Proficiency with Epic EHRExperience using the 3M encoder
