About the role

Postdoctoral Position AvailableA wet-lab postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Zhang Lab | University of Michigan Medical School (Department of Radiation Oncology) to join a highly collaborative team (Morgan Lab | University of Michigan Medical School) studying how brain tumor cells and their surrounding environment respond to treatment, with the goal of identifying new therapeutic strategies. The successful candidate will lead and support innovative projects with strong emphasis on mechanistic and translational research. The laboratory has established a track record of impactful publications in leading journals, including Neuro-Oncology, Cancer Cell, Cancer Research, Molecular Cell, and Nucleic Acids Research. Leveraging unparalleled access to the resources and expertise of both the Department of Radiation Oncology and the University of Michigan Pediatric Brain Tumor Center, we employ innovative, multidisciplinary, and multi-omic approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms driving pediatric brain tumor therapeutic resistance and tumor-immune interactions. We aim to translate these discoveries into more effective and less toxic therapies for children with brain tumors.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
