About the role
Clinical Instrument Technician We're seeking a hands-on technician to set up, configure, and test clinical instruments, prototypes, and software used in clinical user studies. The ideal candidate has experience bringing up and troubleshooting biomedical instruments/prototypes and some familiarity working with biomedical or physiological signals.
Location: On-site only, Santa Clara/Sunnyvale/Cupertino
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- BS in a life sciences, bio/biomedical engineering, or related technical field
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating biomedical instruments
- Demonstrated ability to bring up and troubleshoot instrument/device prototypes
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Understanding of biomedical/physiological signals
- Experience analyzing biomedical data (e.g., PPG, EEG, spectroscopy)
- Working knowledge of Python
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Set up, configure, and test clinical instruments, computers, and device prototypes ahead of user studies
- Deploy and verify clinical software against specifications
- Follow test SOPs and instructions to collect data on device prototypes
- Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate/communicate issues to the study team as they arise
- Understand each study's objectives and visit structure, and help refine procedures to meet study goals
- Maintain accurate records of instrument setup, calibration, and test sessions
