About the role
Senior Gameplay Engineer Do you love building games? Do you enjoy making something engaging and magical happen on the screen? Have you built some excellent gameplay systems?
We're searching for a Senior Gameplay Engineer to help us maintain Torchlight 3 and craft the future of Echtra. We're a small game studio in San Francisco with a team of veteran game developers. At Echtra, we value diversity and support work-life balance. We have great benefits, an open vacation policy, and flexible schedules.

Requirements:
You're comfortable working in C++.
You've built multiple gameplay systems before and have shipped them to users.
You're at home working on a large game engine.
Pluses: Experience building RPG gameplay systems.
Experience working with Unreal Engine 4.
Experience shipping on a major console like Xbox or Play Station.
A love and passion for gaming.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
