Prior experience supervising at least one direct report in a construction, development, owner’s representative, or project management context. Ability to operate effectively in a growing company where systems are established enough to provide structure but still evolving.
Job Description: The Director of Development is responsible for leading APG’s development project management and construction execution function from pre-closing hard cost validation through construction completion, conversion, stabilization, and 8609 delivery. This role provides senior-level development and construction oversight for APG’s affordable housing development projects. The Director of Development ensures that project scopes, budgets, schedules, construction execution, draw reviews, and handoffs are managed with discipline, technical credibility, and clear accountability. The role requires a hybrid skill set: affordable housing / LIHTC development experience combined with enough construction field knowledge to independently assess project scope, construction progress, GC performance, and draw documentation.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
