Animal Care Assistant/ Campus Support Location: Northwest Campus 13201 W Grand Avenue Surprise, AZ 85374

Employment Terms: 11 Months, Full Time (this position requires weekends when animals are on site and flexibility to cover morning and early evening classes.)
Salary Range: $20.64 - $26.83; hourly
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for animal care to numerous species.
Able to comfortably restrain fractious animals.
Ability to perform basic medical procedures on small animals.
Assist with the treatment of sick or ill animals.
Assist with the maintenance of the facility and equipment.
Assist with the inventory of supplies and ordering.
Basic housekeeping.
Provide assistance to teacher as needed.
Provide assistance to campus as needed i.e. clerical, facilities
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Participate in advisory council and IACUC meetings
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft Office and/or Google suite products.
Knowledge of the principles of business English, grammar, spelling, and preparation of correspondence.
Skill in reading, interpreting, understanding and applying relevant Federal, State, and District rules, regulations, and policies and procedures.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with community businesses, general public, parents and students, co-workers, and other having business with the district.
Organization of facility forms and records.
Basic knowledge of Cornerstone animal charting
AVA certification or 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Qualifications:
Experience working with animal care.
Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays.
Flexibility to adjust hours per the needs of animals while on campus.
Other requirements:
Must possess a current Arizona Driver's License.
Must be able to pass fingerprint and background checks.
