New York City Dear Media is seeking an experienced Creative Producer to lead the creative development and production of premium podcasts and original content initiatives with top-tier talent. This role is equal parts creative strategist, show-runner, and producer, built for someone eager to develop and produce new, compelling content and formats across on-demand, live, and streaming platforms, build trusted relationships with talent, and confidently oversee the technical execution of a show from recording through distribution. Success in this role also requires exceptional cross-department communication and collaboration, working seamlessly across creative, production, editorial, sales, marketing, operations, and talent to keep current shows operating at the highest level, while identifying ways to grow Dear Media through new formats, platforms, talent, and the evolving digital media landscape. Responsibilities:
Creative Development & Show Strategy Serve as the primary creative partner for assigned talent and owned series across a variety of formats. Develop and evolve new programming initiatives, including creative framework, voice, episodic breakdown, and long-term strategy for each show. Identify emerging talent, creators, hosts, and subject matters relevant to our audience, sales partners, and broader business initiatives. Work with distribution partners, platforms, and streamers to identify opportunities to expand the reach and impact of Dear Media’s content. Lead weekly show preparation, including research, episode outlines, interview structure, talking points, and production briefs. Possess a deep understanding of You Tube, social performance metrics, and general audience behavior and preferences. Collaborate with talent to identify timely themes, recurring segments, and guest opportunities based on their programming goals. Continuously evaluate show performance and recommend creative opportunities to strengthen audience engagement and growth. Talent Management & Production Build and maintain a network of trusted freelance producers and production partners, with the ability to quickly staff and oversee out-of-studio productions and special projects from concept through execution. Build trusted, day-to-day relationships with high-profile talent partners and their teams. Guide talent through the creative process while ensuring recordings stay on schedule and aligned with the show’s vision. Act as the primary point of contact for creative and production needs. Maintain a polished, professional, and solutions-oriented approach in all talent communications. Production & Technical Oversight Produce recordings in studio and remotely depending on the project’s needs, including in-studio story and line production skills. Possess a working knowledge of studio setup, recording equipment, audio workflows, and production best practices. Partner closely with editors while maintaining the ability to step into technical responsibilities as needed, including: Audio editing Mix and master review Quality control Episode distribution Distribution and publishing workflows Ensure all episodes meet Dear Media’s production and quality standards. Work with campaign management and talent on sales partnerships that touch the show and ensure all contracted deliverables are met and that partnerships align with the show’s creative vision, talent, and audience.
Qualifications:
4+ years of podcast, digital media, and hands-on content production experience. A proven track record building something from scratch: a show, a format, a digital video operation. A genuine point of view and conviction about the future of digital video: content, formats, distribution. Strong relationships across the creator, entertainment, media, and talent ecosystem, with the ability to identify and open doors to new talent, guests, and creative opportunities. Experience producing interview-driven and personality-led content. Experience with live programming and live streaming, with an understanding of the unique creative and production needs of real-time content across platforms. Proven ability to manage relationships with high-profile talent, executives, creators, or public figures. Expertise in defining scopes, developing staffing plans, negotiating contracts, and creating project plans, budgets, and schedules. Strong experience developing show formats, recurring segments, and guest strategy. Excellent writing skills with the ability to create detailed outlines, interview briefs, and production documents. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously. Working knowledge of audio production software and podcast production workflows. Comfortable operating recording equipment and troubleshooting technical issues when necessary. Experience collaborating with editors while understanding the full post-production process from recording through distribution. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities. Collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
