About the role

Material Handler The Material Handler will be responsible for assemblies. They will feed the production floor with the necessary material for each job. They will keep the inventory shelves and pipe yard organized.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
  • Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped.
  • Moves materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).Maintains inventory levels and restock of material.
  • Checks inventory for needed material on PO Requisition Forms.
  • Pull and label inventory for jobs and ensure welders/fitters have all material needed for job.
  • Check heat numbers, material size and specifications for all inventory being used and stocked.
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Organizes the work floor and moves material through shop floor along processing.
  • Distribute material for projects, relaying expectations of completion based on requested ship date and any test requirement dates.
  • Prepares material for welders (cut, grind, prep any other material needed)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Good math and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred. Two years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
