The role will collaborate with Modern Retailing, Agency and Corporate Programs, Sales IT, DEA IT, and other parts of the commercial organization to deliver actionable insights. This position provides opportunities to influence the strategic direction of Indirect and Direct by using data and analytics to identify opportunities to optimize revenue. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n What you'll do\n\n\n\nThis list is intended to reflect the current job, but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced.\n\nManage projects to enhance and develop data, models, and analytic processes that support Sales and Revenue \n \n\n\n\nWorks effectively with internal and external partners (vendors and other organizations within American Airlines) \n \n\n\n\nUtilize various databases and programming languages to process data and perform statistical analysis. \n \n\n\n\nIdentify and implement best practices related to business processes, data governance, and automated solutions. \n \n\n\n\nResponsible for validation, data cleansing, maintenance, and reinforcing data integrity to business rules and standards. \n \n\n\n\nKeep abreast of industry solutions and ensure that AA leads the analytical space to increase our competitiveness \n \n\n\n\nBridge the gap between raw data and business strategy by extracting insights to solve complex problems by applying statistics, programming, and machine learning to large datasets \n \n\n\n\nCollecting, cleaning, and organizing large, complex datasets so they can be analyzed reliably. \n \n\n\n\nInterpreting technical results into actionable business strategies and presenting findings to stakeholders\n \n\n\n\n\n\n All you'll need for success\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience\n\nMasters degree plus 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)\nExperienced with Machine Learning, Data Science, and AI-driven techniques\nExperience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java)\nPractical experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis\n \nPreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience\n\nExperience in Machine Learning, Data Science, and AI-driven techniques\nExperience with SQL and data visualization (e.g., Tableau)\nAirline, aviation or transportation industry experience\nExperience with Cloud Computing and/or Distributed Computing (e.g. Databricks, Spark, AWS)\nExperience with Microsoft Azure (storage accounts, service principal, Azure Data Factory and active directory)\n \nSkills, Licenses & Certifications\n\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint\nAbility to perform customer data analysis using complex data sets\nInquisitive out-of-the-box thinker who is continuously on the lookout for opportunities to improve and innovate with data science solutions\nExcellent leadership, communication, creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to move projects forward without deadlines and effectively work with time constraints\nAbility to work cross-functionally and communicate and work with diverse business groups\n \n\n\n\n\n What you'll get\n\n\nFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: \n\nTravel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
