By providing easy-to-understand weather updates, you'll help our audience stay safe and informed. WHAT YOU'LL BRING
TO SPECTRUM NEWSRequired Qualifications: Experience Experience forecasting and presenting weathercasts - 2+ years, working knowledge of TV weather graphics systems Education Bachelor's degree in Meteorology
Technical Skills: Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical and radar Skills Ability to anticipate situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities Abilities Demonstrate enthusiasm in dealing with breaking news Travel Ability Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community Schedule Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications: National Weather Association (NWA) and/or the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems May be required to lift up to five pounds
