Position Summary: Information
Job Description: Summary The purpose of this position is to work in the Math Learning Center. Responsibilities include, but not limited to assisting students in the Math Learning Center to complete assigned math lessons, tutoring students in math-related activities, data entry, answering phones and maintaining the daily log. Other duties may be assigned. Work/schedule hours vary, however may be within any time that the Math Learning Center is open.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of 60 college credit hours. At least a B average for all math courses. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong mathematical skills and logical reasoning. Ability to effectively articulate mathematical concepts. Capable of working with students from different cultural backgrounds, and various academic levels and needs.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior tutoring experience. Completion of Calculus II with high standing. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) concentrated degree plan. Knowledge of learning management systems (preferably Canvas). Proficient with a variety of calculators and math software such as MyMath Lab. Job Duties: Help and guide students with math related problems. Conduct individual and small group tutorials. Greet and assist students with signing in. Manage and create resources. Attend staff meetings. Maintain an organized and neat facility. Participate in on-going training. Market the Math Learning Center. Other duties assigned.
