About the role
- Prepare and paint large industrial materials, including pipe, valves, fabricated skids, and equipment
- Use spray guns and conventional paint pots to apply a wide range of industrial coatings
- Mix coatings accurately according to technical data sheets and specified ratios
- Apply zinc primers, epoxies, urethanes, and multi-coat systems
- Use a wet mil gauge to verify proper film thickness
- Perform 3-coat above-ground coating systems (primer, mid-coat, topcoat)
- Apply below-ground coating systems such as SPC-2888 or Denso Protal 7200 (plural component systems)
- Maintain spray equipment, hoses, and pots
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed
- Keep work area clean and follow all safety, PPE, and quality requirements
- Minimum 4 years of industrial coatings experience
- Experience painting large industrial components (pipe, valves, skids, etc.)Proficient with spray guns and conventional paint pot systems
- Strong understanding of industrial coating systems and mixing ratios
- Ability to measure and verify coating thickness using a wet mil gauge
- Experience with zinc, epoxy, and urethane coatings required
- Below-ground coating experience (SPC-2888 or Denso Protal 7200) a plus
- Overhead crane and forklift experience helpful
- Must be able to pass a paint test: mix per data sheet, set up spray pot, and spray test panel
