Job Duties: This position performs entrylevel correctional supervisory and instructional work that supports firearms training and daily firing range operations. Key responsibilities include conducting weapons instruction, supervising trainees during firearms qualification, and instructing security and nonsecurity staff in defensive tactics, riot control, and chemical agent delivery systems. The role requires maintaining range safety, cleaning weapons and loading ammunition, maintaining range supplies and equipment inventory, assisting with range maintenance, and enforcing operational and safety standards during all livefire activities. Additional duties involve serving as a line instructor, aiding employees with marksmanship training, providing instruction in searches, inmate supervision, and emergency response, developing and revising lesson plans and training aids, administering examinations, and maintaining training records. This position ensures officers achieve and maintain firearms proficiency in a safe, controlled training environment.
