About the role

High-Frequency Quant Developer - Low-Latency Core Systems Responsibilities and technical scope: Design, build and own low-latency trading and research systems, including market data, order entry, simulation, monitoring and research interfaces. Own critical components from architecture through testing, production rollout, observability and maintenance. Diagnose latency, throughput, stability and correctness across networking, Linux and application layers, and work directly with researchers and traders on solutions. Modern C++17/20 on Linux; strong memory, concurrency and lock-free programming. Low-latency networking and market-data systems; kernel bypass, including ef_vi, is highly relevant. Practical eBPF, CPU/cache, profiling and hot-path optimization experience. Nanosecond-level tuning may matter in selected critical paths; the role is not defined by a marketing latency number. What our client looks for:3+ years in low-latency, high-frequency, electronic-trading or other performance-critical systems. HRT or Jump Core Developer experience is especially relevant; comparable HFT/prop backgrounds are welcome. Strong C++ and practical Linux, networking and concurrency knowledge. Scope and decision rights: Own designated core-system components from technical design through live operation. Have a direct voice in architecture, performance priorities and engineering trade-offs. Help shape engineering standards and the system roadmap as the global business expands. Why this role Real systems ownership: responsibility for important components, not isolated tickets or maintenance work. Flat, low-friction engineering culture: short decision paths and direct contact with technical and investment stakeholders. Predictable reward and location choice: competitive base compensation with a bonus tied to engineering delivery rather than any single strategy's PnL; based in Shanghai or Hong Kong, with relocation support. Focus on genuine Core Developers, especially from HRT or Jump, rather than generalist application developers or pure quant researchers Must come from these companies only: Citadel Citadel Securities Jump Trading Hudson River Trading (HRT)XTX MarketsIMC Trading

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
