Controller Los Angeles County, CA Direct Hire Accounting Management $170K to $225K 10/02/2026 Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $170,000 to $225,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities: Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and month end, quarter end, and year end close activities for a portfolio of real estate assets. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, general ledger accounting, and other core financial functions. Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning efforts to support business performance and decision making. Coordinate audits, tax reporting support, lender reporting, ownership reporting, and other external financial requirements. Develop and mentor accounting staff while improving processes, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.7+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Prior leadership experience managing and developing accounting professionals. Strong knowledge of property accounting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and close processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience utilizing accounting and property management software platforms.
Qualifications: Commercial real estate, retail real estate, property management, or related industry experience preferred. Previous experience with tenant billing, expense recoveries, budgeting, forecasting, and real estate financial analysis. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve financial performance. Prior experience leveraging technology, automation, and emerging tools to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior management.
