Remote HR Compliance Project Manager
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced HR Compliance Project Manager to lead and manage projects related to HR compliance, employment regulations, policies, audits, and risk management. The role will partner closely with HR, Legal, Payroll, Finance, HR Operations, and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a solid understanding of HR compliance, excellent stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple compliance initiatives across locations and functions. Key ResponsibilitiesHR Compliance & Risk Management Monitor and assess changes in applicable employment laws, regulations, and statutory requirements. Coordinate implementation of new or revised HR compliance requirements. Identify compliance gaps and develop remediation plans in partnership with HR, Legal, and relevant business teams. Support internal and external HR compliance audits and ensure timely closure of findings. Maintain compliance trackers, risk registers, documentation, and management reports. Ensure HR policies, processes, and practices remain aligned with applicable regulatory requirements.
Project Management:
Lead end-to-end HR compliance projects from initiation through implementation and closure.
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, dependencies, resources, and deliverables.
Develop detailed project plans and track progress against agreed timelines.
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
Provide regular project status updates to HR leadership and key stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management:
Partner with HR Business Partners, HR Operations, Payroll, Legal, Finance, IT, Internal Audit, and business leaders.
Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and governance forums.
Communicate complex compliance requirements clearly to business and HR stakeholders.
Drive accountability and follow-up across multiple teams.
Governance & Reporting:
Establish appropriate governance frameworks for HR compliance initiatives.
Develop dashboards, status reports, KPIs, and executive-level presentations.
Maintain accurate project and compliance documentation.
Track corrective and preventive actions through completion.
Support continuous improvement of HR compliance processes and controls.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.5–10 years of experience in HR, HR compliance, HR operations, or HR project/program management.
Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional HR projects.
Strong knowledge of employment-related compliance and HR policies.
Experience with audits, risk assessments, compliance remediation, or regulatory implementation.
Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a multinational or global organization.
- Experience managing HR compliance across multiple countries or jurisdictions.
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, CIPD, or equivalent.
- Experience with HRIS, compliance management, or workflow systems.
