Senior Engineering Manager (140-190K) We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior Engineering Manager in the Syracuse, NY area.
Overview: Fast-growing DoD sensing technology manufacturer. Newly created engineering leadership position supporting significant manufacturing growth and scale-up. Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (Test Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Service Engineers).Competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and attractive stock options. Responsibilities: Lead the Engineering functions to support complex electronic and electromechanical products. Drive manufacturing readiness and the transition of new products from development into repeatable production. Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and production test processes. Partner with Development Engineering on DFM/DFA/DFT/DFS initiatives. Improve production test strategies, troubleshooting methods, diagnostic capabilities, and test automation. Develop scalable processes supporting field service, depot repair, product returns, troubleshooting, refurbishment, and installations. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts involving manufacturing, test, and field failures. Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, repeatability, and efficiency. Develop and mentor engineering teams while establishing clear technical ownership, priorities, and scalable processes. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Configuration Management, and Customer Service.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.7+ years of Test Engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience transitioning complex hardware products from engineering development into production.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and production test methods.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience involving complex electronic or electromechanical systems.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Experience: PCB assemblies and electronics manufacturing. RF, radar, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or other complex electronic hardware. Automated test systems, manufacturing test equipment, and diagnostic tools. Depot repair, RMA, field service, or product lifecycle support. Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma. ISO 9001 manufacturing environment. ERP/MRP and PLM systems. Experience scaling manufacturing from low rate production to significantly higher volumes.
