About the role

Overview: This position exists to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to project activities in the field. The incumbent receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects. The incumbent applies independent judgment in managing his/her project activities and making minor adaptations and modifications and offers suggestions on moderate to major adaptations and modifications. Works both independently and within a team environment with minimum supervision. Is expected to be a team leader, but without general supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities: Coordinate geotechnical drilling, mark field borings, log field activities and perform site reconnaissance. Conduct lab activities as needed. Prepare and/or distribute boring logs, boring plans and other critical reports under the supervision of a senior engineer. Assist local CMT projects with special inspection services. May assist with or conduct Construction Materials Testing services. Assist in the preparation of proposals for geotechnical, CMT and environmental services. Provide oversight and on-the-job training to Field Professional I's. Assist with construction document and daily field report reviews as needed. Represent the company at professional and/or client meetings. Perform other special assignments and projects as assigned by Branch or Senior Management.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, geology or related field required; Master's degree and EIT preferred 2 years' experience
