About the role
SUMMARY:
Spectrum Staffing Services is recruiting a QC Technologist for an opportunity supporting a quality control laboratory. This role tests raw materials and formulas, provides analytical support to Operations and R&D, investigates nonconforming results, and supports food safety activities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on GC and HPLC experience and can independently perform testing while maintaining accurate laboratory records.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform QC testing of raw materials and formulas, including GC, HPLC and sensory testing. Develop and improve analytical methods and maintain product testing procedures and lot data. Perform laboratory equipment checks and calibrations, production equipment checks, and facility environmental monitoring swabbing. Investigate out-of-specification results, deviations, material rejections and customer or vendor nonconformances; document findings for root cause and corrective action follow-up. Create, review and revise QC SOPs while following GLP, GMP, food safety and laboratory safety requirements. Sample incoming raw materials, organize product retains, maintain laboratory supplies, and support timely material dispositions. Perform microbiological testing and report results as needed; provide training and guidance to technicians. QUALIFICATIONS3-5 years of experience in a quality control laboratory. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with both GC and HPLC, plus method development experience. PCQI certification and practical food safety experience. Experience with equipment checks, environmental monitoring swabbing and sensory testing. Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, accurate documentation, and problem solving. Clear communication skills and proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
