Clean Energy Intern Alliance for Clean Energy New York About ACE NY: The Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profitorganization that serves as the premier multi-technology renewable energy industry organizationfor New York State. ACE NY's members include environmental, civic, educational, and labororganizations, as well as for-profit companies engaged in the development and operation of land-based wind power, solar power, hydroelectric, and offshore wind power facilities, and companiesengaged in electricity transmission, electric vehicle manufacturing, energy efficiency contracting, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, plus consulting to or supporting the clean energyindustry. ACE NY's mission is to promote the use of clean, renewable electricity technologies andenergy efficiency in New York state, in order to increase energy diversity and security, boosteconomic development, improve public health, and reduce air pollution. Its Board of Directorsconsists of clean energy companies and national and state environmental organizations.
Position Overview: The Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY) is seeking a Clean Energy Intern to assist in our work promoting renewable energy, transportation electrification and energyefficiency in New York. The Intern would be assisting ACE NY staff in our participation in severalongoing proceedings at the New York State Public Service Commission in relation to the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, and the finalized Climate Action Plan, which requires New York to achieve its 70% renewable energy by 2030 goal. The Clean Energy Intern will conductresearch and analysis of clean energy policies; develop written outreach materials regarding ourclean energy policy goals; and assist with day-to-day office activities. This is an unpaid positionthat will be conducted virtually.
Qualifications: This position is open to current graduate and undergraduate students seeking adegree in business administration, public administration, public policy, political science, environmental studies, energy policy, or a related field, with a demonstrated interest in cleanenergy policy. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience and strongcommunication skills. Students should consult with academic faculty to determine if this unpaidexperience will earn credit.
