DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: Guide and instruct Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) engineers whom are involved in EHS programs, policies and procedures, while interacting with employees in multiple areas of manufacturing of Textron Aviation aircraft.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, organizes and schedules team activities and assignmentsCoordinates teams' activities with other groups/organizations/departmentsOversee assignments involving implementation of general safety and environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate policies and local, state, and federal EPA and OSHA rules and regulationsPersonally assists/executes in implementation efforts involving EH&S policies and procedures. and as difficult problems are encountered. Ensures timely and effective customer support to all Textron Aviation entitiesImproves the effectiveness of the team by instructing, developing and creating the required environment for motivation, innovation and job development of employees, assess individual employee results in relation to job assignments and takes or recommends appropriate actionsPerforms necessary research to maintain and exercise a working knowledge of new environmental and safety processesPrepares periodic activity and status reports and performs special assignments as requiredDevelops a collaborative environment for execution of safety kaizens, gemba walks, and safety improvement processesDevelopment and execution of Textron Aviation Safety Management SystemAssist with and performs incident investigations on injuries or illnesses and provide recommendations to prevent recurrences, using the root cause analysis methodBe aware of basic Ergonomic principles and be willing to lead preliminary ergonomic Injury investigations and perform Ergonomic reviews by understanding the employee's tasks and risksProvide positive coaching to employees including developing and conducting effective safety trainingJoin in the development and compiling of training manuals and other training aids, and obtain equipment, training videos, and other materials for instructional purposesPerform other related duties as required by supervisorQualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree required in: o Environmental Health and Safety o Health Services Management o Medical Administration o Other related fieldsMinimum 5 years of relative experience requiredLeadership experience is preferredQUALIFICATONS:Prior experience in Environmental Health & Safety Engineering role or function preferredExperience with EHS in a manufacturing environment is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in MS Office productsAction orientedManagerial courageFlexibility and adaptabilityDemonstrated ability to build effective teamsJob Field: Environmental, Health & SafetyJob Type: ExperiencedSchedule: Full-timeShift: First ShiftJob Level: Manager with Direct Reports
