About the role
- Fabricate HVAC ductwork, fittings, and accessories per shop drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and take-offs
- Lay out, cut, form, and assemble sheet metal using shop equipment
- Operate and maintain equipment such as brakes, shears, plasma tables, rollers, and seamers
- Produce rectangular, spiral, round, and lined duct systems
- Ensure ductwork meets SMACNA standards and company quality requirements
- Label, stage, and prepare materials for field installation and delivery
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication shop
- Identify fabrication issues and coordinate with project managers or field supervisors
- Track production output and meet job schedules and deadlines
- Qualifications & Experience 2+ years of HVAC sheet metal fabrication experience (commercial preferred)
- Ability to read shop drawings and duct layouts
- Experience working with galvanized, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet metal
- Proficiency with shop tools and fabrication machinery
- Knowledge of SMACNA standards and fabrication methods
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Manual dexterity for precision layout and fabrication
- Preferred (Not Required)SMACNA certification or formal sheet metal apprenticeship
- Experience with plasma tables or CNC fabrication equipment
- Forklift certification
- Competitive pay ranges from $20 - $36+ an hour depending on experience
