About the role

Job Description: Entry-Level Device Repair Technician
Position Overview
Location: Harmans, MD (near BWI Airport)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Morning shift - Flexible start hours
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour Employment Type: Full-time
Who Should Apply? This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and ready to learn. You might have experience in assembly, manufacturing, quality inspection, production, equipment maintenance, or another hands-on environment—or you may simply be looking for an opportunity to enter a new field. You don’t need to know how to repair medical devices when you start. You do need to be willing to learn, follow instructions exactly, document your work accurately, and commit to building your skills over time. If you’re looking for a stable, full-time opportunity where you can learn a specialized trade in a calm, supportive work environment, we encourage you to apply!
Key Responsibilities: Hands-On Repair & Maintenance: Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and reassemble small medical devices and their internal hardware components at a dedicated repair bench. Technical Skill Development: Learn and execute specialized technical skills, such as soldering and desoldering, through on-the-job training. Quality Assurance & Testing: Test devices post-repair to ensure full functionality. Work toward an established productivity target of approximately 2.5 hours per device repair while maintaining strict quality and accuracy. Process Adherence & Documentation: Precisely follow written instructions, technical manuals, and established procedures without skipping steps. Complete accurate, legible service reports to ensure compliance in an FDA-regulated environment.
Qualifications: Education & Physical Requirements (Must-Haves): High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical activities required for bench repair work.
Core Competencies: (Must-Haves): Exceptional attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently in a calm environment. Must be able to read, understand, and carefully follow written instructions. Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Haves): Prior experience with mechanical/electronic repairs, assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, or using hand tools. Technical coursework, certification, or an associate degree in a related field is a major plus. What Makes This Opportunity Different? Training provided: Start a new career without needing prior medical device repair experience. Quiet, focused environment: Work in a small, close-knit team of approximately six to seven employees. Independent, hands-on work: Spend your time working directly with physical devices rather than handling IT support or help desk requests. Long-term growth potential: Develop specialized technical skills and grow with an established, growing business. Clear expectations: Learn the process first, then work toward the expected repair time while maintaining quality standards.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
