Sorter Position American Recycling is looking for a Sorter to work in our recycling facility in Manassas, VA.
Pay rate: $17/hr
Responsibilities include: Removing any material that may wrap around the OCC and fiber star screens. Removing any large non-recyclable material. Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day. If stationed at the OCC discharge conveyor, removing any material that is not cardboard. Removing plastic bags. Spreading out surge piles of material to relieve jams in the OCC, fiber screens and conveyors. Removing batteries and placing in designated area. Sustaining 40 50 picks per minute. Being safety conscious and utilizing the proper PPE when handling broken glass, other sharp objects, heavy / awkward items, etc. Being punctual at start and stop times. Keeping your work area clean and free from trip hazards. Attending all scheduled safety meetings.
