Service Estimator Kinsley Power Systems is hiring for a Service Estimator. The Service Estimator is responsible for transforming technician findings into accurate, timely, and profitable service quotations. This position evaluates field service write-ups, and material requirements, researches parts and sub-contractor costs, and develops customer quotations that support successful equipment repair and maintenance. The Service Estimator serves as a critical link between technicians, suppliers, and customers, ensuring repairs are quoted accurately, parts are sourced efficiently, and customer expectations are met. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Reviews technician write-ups and service reports to determine repair scope, required materials, and quotation requirements. Manages assigned service quote workload, prioritizing requests based on customer impact, equipment criticality, and business objectives. Develops accurate Time & Material (T&M) and repair quotations in accordance with company pricing guidelines and profitability targets. Researches part compatibility, availability, pricing, and lead times to support repair recommendations and quote development. Works directly with technicians, operations personnel, and customers to clarify repair requirements and provide accurate quotation information. Collaborates with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to obtain technical specifications, pricing, and delivery commitments. Identifies replacement components and part numbers using equipment documentation, exploded diagrams, and manufacturer resources. Expedites critical parts research to minimize customer downtime and support emergency repairs. Maintains strong supplier relationships and actively seeks alternative sourcing solutions when appropriate. Supports key customer programs and critical repairs by meeting established response and turnaround expectations. Tracks quote activity and follows established processes to ensure timely completion. Provides exceptional service and communication to both internal and external customers.
Education and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus two+ years related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis Computer experience, with Microsoft Dynamics GP experience a plus Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced, changing environment Mechanical inclination; diesel and gaseous engine knowledge preferred Solid organizational skills and ability to follow through; uses time efficiently and is detailed-oriented Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with customers, colleagues, and management All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, certifications, location, and other business-related factors.
