About the role
Fraud & AML Analyst: We are seeking a Fraud & AML Analyst to join a growing financial services organization. This individual will work closely with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to identify, investigate, and mitigate financial crime risk across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and investigate fraud and AML alerts, analyzing customer profiles, account activity, transaction patterns, and other relevant information to identify suspicious or potentially high-risk activity. Conduct transaction monitoring and investigative reviews in support of AML, BSA, sanctions, and broader financial crime compliance requirements. Investigate suspected fraudulent activity, document findings clearly, and escalate significant or time-sensitive matters when appropriate. Support the development and enhancement of fraud and AML monitoring processes, controls, and investigative procedures. Identify emerging trends, recurring behaviors, and potential control gaps across fraud and financial crime activity. Stay informed on evolving fraud typologies, money laundering risks, sanctions considerations, and relevant regulatory developments. Assist with financial crime risk assessments, management reporting, metrics, and internal awareness initiatives. Provide support during internal audits, regulatory examinations, compliance reviews, and other assessments relating to AML, BSA, sanctions, and fraud. Partner with stakeholders across the organization to investigate issues and strengthen controls designed to mitigate financial crime risk. Contribute to broader Compliance and Risk initiatives as business and regulatory requirements evolve.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.2+ years of experience within fraud, AML, financial crime compliance, regulatory compliance, risk, operations, or a related financial services function. Experience reviewing transactional activity and conducting investigations within a regulated financial services environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify unusual patterns and assess risk across multiple sources of information. Strong written communication and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple investigations and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with AML/BSA requirements, sanctions compliance, fraud prevention, and financial crime controls. Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive or potentially high-risk matters.
Preferred Experience:
Experience within banking, fintech, payments, wealth management, brokerage, or another regulated financial services environment. Familiarity with transaction monitoring, case management, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, or fraud detection systems. CAMS, CFE, or similar professional certification is beneficial but not required.
