About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in managing dental malpractice cases throughout all stages of litigation, from initial client intake through settlement and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to review and analyze complex dental and medical records while managing multiple cases and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and support dental malpractice cases from initial client intake through settlement and trial preparation. Obtain, review, and analyze extensive dental and medical records, X-rays, treatment histories, billing records, and related documentation. Assist attorneys with drafting and filing pleadings, discovery demands, motions, notices, subpoenas, and other litigation documents. Conduct legal and factual research related to New York dental malpractice claims and litigation procedures. Coordinate all aspects of discovery, including document collection, production, review, and organization. Prepare detailed medical and dental chronologies, case summaries, deposition materials, exhibits, and trial binders. Communicate and coordinate with expert witnesses, dental professionals, healthcare providers, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Maintain litigation calendars and monitor court deadlines, discovery obligations, and case progress to ensure timely compliance. Assist attorneys with depositions, examinations before trial (EBTs), hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files, ensuring accurate documentation and timely retrieval of records. Prepare settlement materials, including treatment summaries, damages documentation, medical expenses, liens, and supporting evidence. File and monitor documents through New York court e-filing systems, including NYSCEF.
Qualifications & Requirements: Prior experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably handling dental malpractice, medical malpractice, or personal injury cases. Familiarity with New York State litigation procedures, court rules, discovery requirements, and filing deadlines. Experience reviewing and organizing complex medical and dental records, treatment histories, and related documentation. Proficiency in drafting litigation documents, coordinating discovery, and preparing cases for depositions and trial. Experience with New York State Courts Electronic Filing (NYSCEF) preferred. Strong legal research, analytical, and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, expert witnesses, healthcare providers, and court personnel. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and other legal support staff.
