About the role
Lead the Future of Building Systems DesignWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical/HVAC Department Manager to lead a team of engineers and designers in planning, designing, and delivering HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems projects. This leadership role is responsible for project execution, staff development, client relationships, and the department's continued growth.
Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, designers, and technical staff.
Oversee HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system design for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and industrial projects.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Review designs, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal disciplines.
Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
Assist with departmental planning, staffing, and resource allocation.
Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.10+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience.5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technical teams.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building codes, energy-efficient design, and construction practices.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and industry-standard engineering software.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and develop lasting client relationships.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
