About the role

About the Cut At the Cut, our crazy growth has been fueled by word of mouth and an incredible product supported by a world class team. We're hiring a Business Development Manager to help us continue building our community and bringing the premier barbershop experience to the masses. The plan is to go from hundreds of thousands of new users to millions. So you'll need to be a creative, quick on your feet, and a world class executor.
The Role: We're looking for a Business Development Manager to open and close new revenue for the Cut outside of our core subscription and payments business. This role owns the full cycle: sourcing, pitching, negotiating, closing, launching, and transitioning successful partnerships into an ongoing operating model. You're not feeding someone else's pipeline. You're building it, testing what works, signing the deals, and helping us create the playbook along the way. The work spans three lane: Brand Partnerships, Advertising Sales, & Corporate Business Development. Build relationships with brands and agencies looking to authentically reach the Cut's barber and client community. Develop relationships with fortune 500 companies. Identify partnerships that can expand the Cut's distribution. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable selling something that doesn't have a fixed rate card yet, and helping define one.
What You'll Do: Build and own pipeline across brand, corporate, and strategic partnership opportunities. Identify and prioritize new partnership categories based on revenue potential, audience fit, marketplace impact, and scalability. Research prospects and build the business case: why the Cut, why this audience, why now Lead pitches and negotiate terms end to end, from first call to signed agreement Develop creative partnership models Partner cross-functionally with Customer Experience, Product, Marketing, Design, and Operations Work with Design and Marketing to build media kits, decks, and custom proposals on the Cut's brand system Price and package inventory, and help build the rate card where one doesn't exist Own the transition from signed agreement to launch, ensuring expectations, responsibilities, success metrics, and the partner experience are clear. Measure and analyze what happens after launch Identify opportunities to renew, expand, or scale successful partnerships. Turn successful experiments into repeatable partnership playbooks that the Cut can scale. Maintain strong CRM hygiene and report pipeline honestly, including the deals that won't land. Represent the Cut at industry events and brand-side meetings Bring new ideas to the table. Part of the job is identifying partnership opportunities we haven't thought of yet.
What We're Looking For: 3–6 years in business development, enterprise partnerships, or media sales, with closed deals you can point to Proven ability to build pipeline from scratch rather than inherit it Experience owning complex deals from initial prospecting through negotiation and close. Strong commercial instincts and the ability to develop a compelling business case even when the product or pricing model is still being defined. A builder mentality. You don't just execute a sales process, you help create one. Strong written and verbal communication Comfortable working independently and operating without a playbook Real fluency in barbershop culture and the creator/brand ecosystem Reliable communicator who hits deadlines consistently
Bonus: existing relationships on the brand or agency side What the Cut Provides Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options Student loan repayment plan 401(k) plan to help save for your future Unlimited paid time off Health and wellness stipend Free lunch and snacks Free company swag Free haircuts through the Cut

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
