About the role

AdventHealth for Children is seeking a dynamic Pediatric Cardiac Surgery leader to serve as Medical Director at the Walt Disney Pavilion in Orlando, Florida. In this employed role with AdventHealth Medical Group, the new surgeon will partner with existing cardiac surgeons and collaborate with dedicated pediatric cardiology and cardiac ICU teams to drive the growth of our comprehensive open-heart program. The position offers an exceptional career opportunity within a full-service tertiary children's hospital boasting over 200 pediatric beds and a strong track record of positive clinical outcomes. Practice Info Employed opportunity through AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) Located at the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, Florida Full-service, tertiary children's hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22-bed PICU, 15-bed Cardiac ICU, 102-bed NICU, and 17-bed pediatric emergency department Comprehensive pediatric open-heart program established in 2012 with a strong track record of positive outcomes Operates within a statewide network of hospitals supported by an extensive outreach and transport system
Responsibilities: Partner with cardiac surgeons to continue the growth and development of the comprehensive pediatric open-heart program Work collaboratively with dedicated peds cardiology and peds cardiac ICU teams Participate in multidisciplinary daily rounds Compensation Highly competitive salary

Requirements: Senior level surgeon experience is preferred Board Certification or Eligibility by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery, with a focus on Congenital Cardiac Surgery Documented success as an independent pediatric cardiac surgeon in all domains of clinical pediatric cardiac surgery including complex neonatal cardiac surgery and surgery for adults with congenital heart disease Significant interest and capability in pre and post-operative care Active FL medical license, or ability to obtain Demonstrable skills in surgical judgment, management and decision-making Pediatric Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation specialist with UNOS certification preferred, but not required "Team player" mentality
