About the role

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is recruiting a Medical Director of the Pediatric Movement Disorders Program. This individual is responsible for the comprehensive operations of the program including education, clinical services, research, outreach, other scholarly activities, and advocacy. Reporting to the Chief of Neurology, the Medical Director will foster an atmosphere conducive to excellence in faculty, APPs, nursing, MAs and support staff development; clinical care; education of support staff, physicians, nursing, residents and fellows; and foster clinical research. This individual is also responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary Movement Disorders, DBS (surgical movement disorder clinic), Cerebral Palsy, Tourette Syndrome and follow up clinics.
Requirements include: BC in neurology with special qualifications in child neurology and fellowship training in movement disorders, or special interest in movement disorders (for non-fellowship trained demonstrable >10 years' experience in diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders). Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital (JHACH) is a 259-bed teaching hospital, ranked by U.S. News & World Report (2025-2026) in 8 pediatric specialties including neurology and neurosurgery (#22 nationally). We are also ranked as the #1 Children's Hospital in Florida for the third consecutive year and the #4 Best Children's Hospital in the Southeast. The Neurology department presently has 11 physician members with expertise in epilepsy, neuromuscular, headache, neurocutaneous, neuro-oncology, and hospital care. As members of the Johns Hopkins All Children's Institute for Brain Protection Sciences, our team draws upon the expertise of specialists in neurosurgery, neuroimaging, neuro-oncology, neuropsychology and neuropathology. Members of the faculty participate in the education of adult neurology, and pediatrics residents and fellows. The Johns Hopkins All Children's Child Neurology Residency Program is an innovative five-year, ACGME-accredited program, designed to train the next generation of pediatric neurologists. Salary is highly market competitive. Candidates are eligible for an academic appointment at JHU School of Medicine with rank commensurate with experience. An interest in research would be strongly supported. Tampa-St. Petersburg is centrally located to many of Florida's top attractions, just minutes from the beautiful Gulf beaches, 90 miles from Orlando and 4 hours from Miami.
