About the role

We’re Hiring: Bulk Agricultural Freight Dispatcher / Broker Hopper Dispatch, Inc. is looking for an experienced Dispatcher/Freight Broker to join our team in Lake City, Florida. We specialize in bulk agricultural and commodity freight throughout the Southeast, working with owner-operators, feed mills, fertilizer plants, farms, processors, and other agricultural facilities. Position Details Full-time, in-person — Lake City, FL$45,000–$65,000+, depending on experience and book of business Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Rotating after-hours and weekend on-call coverage Minimum 1 year trucking dispatch or freight brokerage experience required 5+ years preferred
What We’re Looking For: We want someone who knows how to manage trucks and freight—not just enter loads into a system. You should be comfortable coordinating multiple trucks and loads, communicating with drivers and customers, managing changing schedules, minimizing deadhead, finding reload opportunities, and solving problems when the original plan changes. Experience with hopper bottom, walking floor, dump, pneumatic, grain, feed, fertilizer, agricultural commodities, or other bulk freight is strongly preferred. Experience dispatching owner-operators, negotiating rates, developing customers, or managing an existing book of business is a major plus. Candidates with extensive industry experience, established customer relationships, or a transferable book of business may qualify for compensation above the listed range. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, treats drivers and customers with respect, and stays calm when trucking doesn't go according to plan. Interested? Apply through our Linked In job posting with your résumé and relevant trucking, dispatch, brokerage, or bulk/ag experience. Please do not call the office regarding this position.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
