This is an opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art lab with a team that is focused on the development of hardware for next generation consumer electronic devices. This is an on-site role in Redmond, WA.
Role Overview:
The lab operates six Stratasys Poly Jet printers: three J750 systems and three J850 systems. This position will be primarily responsible for processing printed parts, preparing printers for daily production, performing routine equipment maintenance, and keeping the lab clean, organized, and production-ready. The technician will work closely with the Additive Manufacturing Lead (FTE) and the AM service team to support the complete Poly Jet workflow. While processing parts, machine readiness and maintenance will remain the technician’s primary responsibilities. We are seeking a versatile individual who can be cross-trained to pre-process print data, prepare builds, and operate other AM technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS). This capability will provide greater flexibility, production coverage, and continuity within the AM service team. Key Responsibilities:
Work under the direction of the AM Lead and coordinate daily production priorities with the AM service team. Processing Poly Jet printed parts. Performing quality control. Perform routine maintenance on Poly Jet machines. Diagnosing build issues and responding with corrective action. Serve as backup support when the AM Lead or other service-team members are unavailable.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma AND 2+ years model-making or shop experience, including building and machining appearance models or prototypes OR equivalent experience. Hands-on experience as a manufacturing technician. Close attention to detail Experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment. Experience processing FDM, SLA, or SLS parts. Experience post-processing parts with a variety of finishes. Experience performing quality control in a production or prototyping environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year technical degree or Bachelor's degree AND 2+ years model-making or shop experience, including building and machining appearance models or prototypes OR equivalent experience. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Poly Jet 3D printers. Experience preparing 3D model data for additive manufacturing. Experience with Poly Jet build-preparation, slicing, nesting, or printer-management software. Preferred experience in one or more of the packages below: Formlabs Pre Form Materialize Magics Stratasys GrabCADExperience pre-processing Poly Jet, SLA, FDM, and SLS parts.
