About the role

Position Overview: Provides operational, administrative, and technical support services within assigned divisions of the Leisure Services Department. Assists with coordination of daily operations, maintenance of inventories and records, technology and equipment support, data collection and entry, and implementation of departmental systems and processes. Positions within this classification may be assigned to Recreation, Fleet & Facilities Maintenance, Parks & Grounds, Administration, or other operational areas based on departmental needs.
Position Functions: Provide administrative and operational support to assigned division programs, facilities, or service areas. Assist with maintaining inventories including equipment, assets, supplies, keys, or access control records. Collect, organize, and enter operational or asset-related data into departmental tracking systems and databases. Assist with setup, coordination, and basic troubleshooting of operational equipment, including audio-visual or workplace technology systems as assigned. Support division staff with coordination of operational requests involving Information Systems, Facilities, or other City departments. Maintain logs, reports, and documentation related to division activities and operational functions. Provide customer service assistance to internal staff and the public as required. Support preparation and organization of materials, equipment, or workspaces necessary for programs, meetings, or operational activities. Maintain organization of storage areas, equipment rooms, or operational workspaces. Drive to and from City facilities or work sites as required. Assist with Department of Leisure Services and City projects as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required. One (1) year of experience in administrative support, operations support, recreation services, facilities operations, inventory tracking, technical coordination, or related field preferred. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar computer software programs. Ability to work evenings, weekends, or outdoors as operational needs require. Valid Driver License. Must obtain State of Florida Driver License within one (1) month of employment.
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working within municipal operations, recreation, facilities, or parks environments. Experience maintaining inventories, records, or databases. Familiarity with operational or work order software systems. Experience assisting with workplace or audio-visual technology. Willingness to adopt AI and emerging technologies.
Supplemental Information: Applicants must authorize and undergo fingerprint-based state and national criminal history screening. Employees in this position are subject to continuous criminal history monitoring throughout employment. This position may require occasional operation of a City or personal vehicle for City business. Employees must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet City driving eligibility standards. Employees authorized to use a personal vehicle for City business must maintain a valid vehicle registration and automobile insurance meeting applicable legal requirements and City policy.
