About the role

Seeking a Principal AI Safety Engineer, the full-time remote position will lead system safety efforts for autonomous and complex systems, utilizing Guardian AI to enhance safety analyses and develop innovative workflows while mentoring engineers and shaping safety architectures. Key responsibilities:Lead system safety work for autonomous systems, addressing novel hazards and operational uncertainties Pioneer AI-assisted safety engineering by applying Guardian AI to improve safety analyses and engineering performance Turn expertise into product by identifying recurring customer challenges and collaborating with software teams to enhance Guardian AI capabilitiesRequired qualifications:Proven track record in system safety through high-consequence programs or influential research Expertise in safety analysis methods such as PHA, FHA, SHA, FTA, FMECA, STPA, and HARA Experience with safety frameworks like MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, and DO-178C Ability to navigate detailed analysis, system architecture, and customer strategy Strong initiative and a builder's mindset, coupled with enthusiasm for AI and automation
