About the role

A well-established real estate organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its commercial accounting team in West Palm Beach. This position supports the accounting and financial reporting for a diversified commercial real estate portfolio that includes retail, office, condominium associations, restaurant, and hotel assets. The Senior Accountant will handle daily and period-end accounting activities, financial reporting, general ledger analysis, cash management, account reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, and variance analysis. The role works closely with finance leadership and other business functions to provide accurate reporting and analysis across the portfolio.
Responsibilities: Perform daily and period-end accounting activities for properties across the commercial portfolio. Review and analyze general ledger activity and financial statements. Prepare accruals, adjusting journal entries, and other entries in accordance with GAAP.Prepare monthly bank and account reconciliations. Perform financial statement analysis and prepare reporting for management and partners. Support monthly cash management and cash-flow forecasting. Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end workpapers based on journal entries and general ledger analysis. Assist with annual GAAP financial statements and external audit requirements. Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting. Analyze monthly and year-to-date budget variances. Develop and maintain reporting templates using Excel. Participate in accounting process improvements and technology integration initiatives. Collaborate with finance leadership, operations, lease administration, treasury, and other internal teams. Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.3+ years of real estate accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Strong general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytical experience. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional judgment and interpersonal skills. CPA preferred. Public accounting experience preferred. JDE experience is a plus.
