About the Role:
J & Z Garage in Elk Grove Village, IL is looking for a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team! Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic testing on vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues
Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
Repair and replace brakes, suspension components, steering systems, and drivetrain parts
Perform engine and transmission diagnostics and repairs
Inspect vehicles and communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards
Document all service and repair work accurately using shop management software
Requirements:
Prior experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic required
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment (OBD Scanners, OE Scanners/Software, PICO, multimeters, etc.)
ASE certification(s) preferred but not required
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
Must supply own tools (Specialty Tools & Scan Equipment Provided)
