About the role
Our client, a global leader in advanced semiconductor manufacturing and technology, is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer (MES / Factory Automation) to support the implementation and ramp-up of manufacturing systems for a new greenfield semiconductor facility in Arizona. This role will support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), CIM, factory automation, and quality systems, with an emphasis on system configuration, integration, deployment, and troubleshooting rather than software development. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, IT, automation teams, and technology vendors to build and scale highly automated factory systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, test, deploy, and support MES and related manufacturing systems
- Integrate MES with CIM/EAP, automation systems such as AMHS/OHT, quality systems, and ERP platforms
- Manage system interfaces and manufacturing data flows, including lot tracking, WIP, recipes, and dispatching logic
- Maintain manufacturing master data, including process flows, equipment, materials, and recipes
- Support SIT, UAT, commissioning, go-live, factory ramp-up, and stabilization activities
- Troubleshoot system issues affecting manufacturing operations and data integrity
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, IT, automation teams, and external technology vendors
- Participate in system design reviews and requirements definition
- Document system functionality, enhancements, configurations, and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline 3-6 years of experience in manufacturing IT, factory automation, semiconductor manufacturing systems, or a closely related environment
- Hands-on experience with MES, CIM/EAP/RMS, factory automation, logistics, or manufacturing quality systems such as SPC/FDCUnderstanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations
- Experience implementing or supporting production manufacturing systems
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial manufacturing software platforms, particularly Applied Materials (AMAT)/Raw Material solutionsMES or factory automation experience within a semiconductor fab, assembly, or test environment
- Experience with manufacturing system integration, implementation, or factory rollout projects
- Understanding of semiconductor equipment interfaces and/or automated material handling systems
- Greenfield, factory startup, commissioning, or manufacturing ramp-up experience
- Familiarity with analytics, AI, or machine learning applications within manufacturing environments
- Work Environment & TravelThis position is focused on project implementation and factory ramp-up, rather than steady-state production support
- Limited coding is required; the primary emphasis is configuration, integration, deployment, and troubleshooting
- The role will include a combination of desk-based systems work and interaction with the factory floor
- Ability to travel internationally, including potential travel to Korea for training, is required as needed
