About the role

Primoris Energy Services is seeking an EPC Lead Project Planner and Scheduler with Power and Industrial project experience to play a critical role in ensuring projects are developed and delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with contractual and operational requirements. The role is both strategic and hands-on, bridging engineering, procurement, and construction teams through robust planning and schedule control.Role and Responsibilities: Project Planning & SchedulingLead and facilitate the overall project planning and development process.Develop detailed Level 3–5 project schedules using Primavera P6Define work breakdown structures (WBS) aligned with project scopeEstablish logic networks, activity sequencing, and critical path analysisIntegrate engineering, procurement, and construction schedules into a master planSet baseline schedules and maintain revisions throughout the project lifecycleSchedule Control & MonitoringTrack progress against the baseline and update schedules regularlyPerform critical path and float analysis to identify risks and delaysMeasure performance using KPIs (SPI, CPI, progress curves, S-curves)Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actionsMaintain schedule integrity and audit complianceRisk & Opportunity ManagementIdentify schedule-related risks and develop mitigation strategiesPerform what-if scenario analysis and contingency planningSupport quantitative risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations, if applicable)Highlight potential bottlenecks in engineering deliverables, procurement, or site executionInterface CoordinationCoordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractorsEnsure alignment of timelines across disciplines and vendorsFacilitate look-ahead planning (2-week / 4-week plans) with site teamsResolve schedule conflicts and interface issuesReporting & CommunicationPrepare and present weekly/monthly schedule reportsGenerate dashboards including: Progress statusMilestones trackingCritical activitiesCommunicate schedule performance to project managers, clients, and stakeholdersParticipate in project review meetings and provide planning insightsChange ManagementEvaluate impact of scope changes, delays, or disruptions on scheduleSupport extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis (e.g., impacted as-planned, time impact analysis)Maintain records for claims and contractual complianceResource & Cost IntegrationSupport resource loading of schedules (labor, equipment)Align schedule with cost control systems and cash flow forecastsAssist in developing manpower histograms and productivity analysisSystems & Process ImprovementStandardize planning procedures, templates, and best practicesEnsure compliance with company and client planning standardsMentor junior planners and provide technical guidanceDrive improvements in planning tools, automation, and reporting systemsTender & Proposal SupportDevelop bid schedules and execution strategies during proposal stageAnalyze project scope to define realistic timelines and constraintsSupport risk identification and schedule commitments for bidsLeadership & GovernanceAct as the planning focal point for the projectEnsure alignment with project controls (cost, risk, change)Provide strategic input to project management on schedule-driven decisionsQualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil), Construction Management, or related fieldMinimum 15+ years of experience in EPC projects, preferably in simple and combined cycle power plant projectsProfessional certifications such as PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) are an advantageTechnical SkillsAdvanced expertise in project scheduling tools (Primavera P6 preferred)Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycle, phases, and workflowsProficiency in critical path analysis, delay analysis, and project forecastingFamiliarity with contract frameworks such as FIDIC or equivalentCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and stakeholder management abilitiesHigh attention to detail with the ability to maintain strategic oversightAbility to perform in high-pressure, fast-track project environmentsBenefits: Competitive compensation paid weeklyBest-in-class; Medical, Dental, Vision, and LTD/STD401(k) with company match, vested day-oneEmployee Stock Purchase Plan [ESPP]Tuition ReimbursementPaid Time Off, Holiday Pay, and Community Service Paid Time OffPet Coverage For our Furry FriendsLegal Assistance CoverageAward winning safety programsOpportunities for professional development and career advancementCompany Overview: Primoris was formed in 2004 as the parent company and is traded on the NYSE under the symbol PRIM.
