Overview: We’re looking for an HR Manager who genuinely loves working with people and cares deeply about creating a great employee experience. This role will own the day-to-day HR function while also partnering closely with leadership on people strategy, performance, and company growth. The right person is highly organized, thoughtful, and comfortable balancing the people side of HR with the details and compliance requirements that come with it. Strong knowledge of HR compliance is important, as is the ability to navigate sensitive employee matters with good judgment and discretion. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who cares about people, takes ownership, and wants to build an employee experience where people feel supported, valued, and set up to succeed. Adkom, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blip, is one of the largest national out-of-home (OOH) media operators. Adkom unifies fragmented OOH inventory by aggregating independent media providers into a single, streamlined buying experience. This allows national advertisers to achieve scalable, coast-to-coast reach through a simplified, consolidated solution. What You’ll Do: Own and lead Blip’s People & Culture function, serving as the primary HR partner to leadership and employees across the company. Develop and execute people strategies, policies, and programs that support Blip’s business goals, culture, and growth. Lead all aspects of employee relations, including performance management, coaching, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and terminations. Own compensation and benefits programs, including compensation planning, benefits administration, annual open enrollment, and employee communications. Oversee HR operations, HR systems, PEO relationships, compliance, and employee records to ensure a smooth and compliant employee experience. Lead recruiting and hiring efforts, from workforce planning and job descriptions through sourcing, interviewing, offers, and onboarding. Manage employment agreements, contractor relationships, compensation plans, and other people-related documentation. Own and maintain Blip’s employee handbook, HR policies, and people processes, ensuring they remain current, practical, and legally compliant. Own day-to-day office management for Blip’s NYC office, including office operations, vendors, supplies, building relationships, and creating a welcoming and productive onsite experience for employees. Serve as a key partner on employment law and compliance matters and coordinate with outside counsel when needed. Lead employee engagement, culture, and employee experience initiatives, including company events, recognition, internal communications, and other programs that strengthen Blip’s culture. Support leadership with organizational planning, team structure, workforce needs, and people-related business decisions. Build trusted relationships across the organization and provide employees with a confidential, approachable resource for workplace questions and concerns. Serve as a strategic and hands-on People & Culture leader who can balance long-term strategy with the day-to-day needs of a growing company.
What We’re Looking For: 5+ years of HR experience, with a track record of owning a broad HR function in a dispersed, growing team. Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, employment practices, benefits, compensation, recruiting, and HR compliance. Experience partnering directly with executives and managers and confidently navigating sensitive or complex employee matters with strong judgment and discretion. Hands-on experience managing HR operations, systems, vendors, benefits, payroll/PEO relationships, and compliance. Experience leading recruiting and building effective hiring and people processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization. Highly organized and comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and balancing strategic work with day-to-day execution. Experience in a startup or high-growth environment, with a genuine interest in building a strong employee experience and thoughtful, scalable people processes.
Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $100,000-$135,000. Compensation is determined during the interview process by assessing a candidate's experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
