Our client is investing in the next phase of its engineering growth, developing a technology ecosystem that powers financial services, payment processing, and digital-first customer experiences. The engineering organization builds and maintains the core applications, cloud infrastructure, and platform capabilities that support secure, dependable, and scalable business operations We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help shape technical strategy and drive the development of critical systems across the organization. This position will focus primarily on backend engineering with Python while spanning cloud architecture, data infrastructure, external integrations, and customer-facing products. This is a senior, hands-on engineering position suited to someone who combines strong software development skills with architectural expertise and technical leadership. You will drive complex engineering projects, influence platform design decisions, establish development standards, and collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions. The successful candidate will thrive in an environment that values ownership, sound technical judgment, and adaptability. You should be comfortable taking initiatives from concept to production, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform health, and improving systems as the business and its technical needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of backend applications, APIs, and services supporting financial products and transaction-based operations. Build reliable, maintainable, and scalable software primarily in Python, with experience using Django strongly preferred. Drive architectural decisions for major engineering projects, translating business objectives into effective technical designs. Architect and manage cloud-based environments on AWS, ensuring scalability, availability, security, and cost efficiency. Take end-to-end responsibility for complex technical initiatives, including requirements gathering, system design, development, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimization. Develop and support integrations with payment processors, financial institutions, external vendors, and third-party platforms. Design robust data models and service architectures that accommodate growing transaction volumes and changing product requirements. Collaborate with frontend engineering teams and contribute to React and TypeScript development where needed. Improve application performance, infrastructure reliability, system resilience, security, and overall engineering efficiency. Strengthen engineering workflows through automated testing, observability, logging, alerting, incident management, and deployment automation. Facilitate technical design reviews, architecture discussions, code reviews, and production incident investigations. Establish reusable architectural patterns, coding conventions, and engineering practices that improve consistency across teams. Assess technical alternatives and make informed tradeoffs between delivery speed, maintainability, scalability, reliability, and operating costs. Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and constructive design feedback. Identify emerging technical challenges, infrastructure limitations, and opportunities for improvement to help guide future engineering investments.

Qualifications: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production-grade applications and distributed systems. Advanced proficiency in Python and substantial experience developing backend services; Django experience is a strong advantage. Solid knowledge of API architecture, distributed computing, service-oriented systems, and relational data modeling. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and AWS in production environments. Working knowledge of React and TypeScript, with the ability to contribute across backend and frontend systems as required. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and build alignment with engineering, product, and business stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience from a top engineering program. Compensation
