About the role

Software Development Engineer III – Mobile (React Native)
What you'll do: Contribute to the development of Premera's next‐generation suite of React Native mobile applications. Design, build, and enhance mobile features using modern technologies, frameworks, and best practices. Participate in technical design discussions and contribute solutions that support scalability, performance, and maintainability. Develop and maintain clean, testable, and well‐documented code in an agile delivery environment. Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to deliver software that is simple, intuitive, and easy to use. Participate in pair programming and peer code reviews to improve quality and knowledge sharing. Improve application quality and reliability by writing unit tests and automated UI tests. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues, including production defects, with a focus on customer impact. Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively within the team and with delivery partners. Continuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and techniques to improve mobile engineering practices.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.4+ years of professional software development experience.3+ years of hands‐on experience developing mobile applications with React Native.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience contributing to the design and delivery of production‐scale mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, modern JavaScript frameworks, and mobile performance optimization.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
  • Experience working in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with iOS or Android application development and an understanding of mobile platform constraints.
  • Experience working in an agile, collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
  • Understanding of mobile security best practices.
Physical Requirements: This role is primarily sedentary, requiring the ability to exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
